About Prairie Stitches

Hello, we are located in Wichita, Kansas, where the wheat is always waving along the yellow brick road! My name is Dori, but the name I am most often referred to as is "MOM"!!! We have 2 wonderful boys Alex "The Great" (9) and "Wild" Cody James (7). We were done! But a joyous surprise happened, Eilysh "Eilyanna Banana" Anastasia (3), decided to join the family. She has been such a blessing (Thank goodness we finally have a girl!). I have been wondering how to channel this creative streak of mine for quite a few years, and it wasn't until our third child that all the elements came together. She has been the inspiration behind our custom made cloth diapers, diaper covers, baby carriers and other crafted products. The driving goal was for me to stay home and be a Work at Home Mom ( WAHM ), so our children would be with us and not someone else. A friend of ours was cloth diapering her son and helped ease me into the world of cloth and laundry. I wish I knew seven years ago how easy cloth diapering was! I love designing and creating with my hands, so I decided to try my hand at a baby carrier. My husband said, "Oh, you're going to make those to sell? I can build you a website." So that's how it started. Well, if I'm going to make carriers, why not diaper covers? Our goal at Prairie Stitches is to offer affordable, quality baby products to other parents.
